Who can join the affiliate program?

Anyone 18+ with an audience that includes drivers in San Diego or Mexicali. Content creators, community leaders, auto enthusiasts, and bilingual creators tend to do best. We don't require a minimum follower count, but we do review every application to confirm fit.

Is there a minimum follower count?

No hard minimum. We've approved community leaders with 200 trusted WhatsApp contacts and rejected influencers with 200K followers because their audience wasn't local. Audience-fit beats audience-size every time.

Can I join if I'm outside San Diego or Mexicali?

You can join from anywhere, but your code only earns commission when used by customers booking in our launch markets. If your audience travels through San Diego or Mexicali, you can still earn — they just have to book a wash there.

Are there exclusivity clauses?

No. Promote whatever else you want. The only restriction: don't promote competing mobile car-wash marketplaces in the same content where you mention Nova.

I was rejected — can I re-apply?

Yes. Wait at least 30 days, build your audience or content style based on the rejection feedback we sent you, and re-apply with the same email. We re-review with fresh eyes.

What's the commission rate?

5% of the booking subtotal (excluding tip). Founding cohort affiliates lock in this rate for life. Future affiliates may have lower rates if we raise platform fees, but yours stays where it started.

Is the commission for the first booking only or lifetime?

Lifetime. Every time a customer books with your code, you earn 5%. Even if they book 100 times over five years. There's no decay, no first-booking-only rule, no cap.

Does the commission include the tip?

No. The 5% commission is calculated on the subtotal of the wash service only. Tips go 100% to the provider — that's our rule, and most affiliates appreciate it because providers are the ones doing the work.

What happens if a customer gets a refund?

If the refund happens within the 14-day clearance window, the commission reverses automatically. After 14 days, your commission is locked in regardless of what happens to the booking.

Is there a cap on how much I can earn?

No cap. We've stress-tested for affiliates earning $10K+/month. As long as your audience keeps booking and your account stays in good standing, you keep earning at the same 5% rate.

What's the minimum payout?

$20 USD or $400 MXN. Below that, your balance rolls over until the next request. There's no expiry — your balance stays yours forever.

How do I request a payout?

Click Request Payout in your dashboard once you hit the minimum. Our team reviews within 48 hours (we check for fraud and confirm Stripe Connect onboarding is complete), then we trigger the transfer.

How fast does the money arrive?

Stripe deposits to your bank in 1 to 2 business days after our team approves the request. Total time from clicking the button to money in your bank: typically 3-4 business days.

Can I get paid in USD or MXN?

Both. USD bookings pay you in USD via Stripe US to a US bank account or debit card. MXN bookings pay you in MXN via Stripe MX to a Mexican CLABE. If you want to consolidate, you can connect a single multi-currency account.

Are there fees on payouts?

0% from Nova. Stripe charges its standard payout fee (typically free in the US, small fee in Mexico). We don't add anything on top.

Can I use my own promo code?

No. To prevent self-referral fraud, your code can't be applied to bookings on your own Nova customer account. The code only earns commission when used by other people.

Can customers stack multiple codes?

Only one code applies per booking. If a customer enters two codes, the first one applied wins — usually the first share they saw. Don't tell people to combine codes; it just confuses the checkout.

How is my code generated?

Auto-generated from your name + a short suffix (e.g. ALEX10, MAYA42). You can request a custom code once after approval, subject to availability and not conflicting with admin-issued codes.

How much does my code discount the customer?

10% off the subtotal. The customer saves 10%, you earn 5%. The platform absorbs the difference; the provider is paid in full regardless.

Will I get a tax form?

If you're a US affiliate and earn enough to cross the IRS reporting threshold, Stripe issues a 1099-NEC at year end. If you're in Mexico, Stripe Connect MX collects your RFC and you handle CFDI invoicing for your commissions yourself.

Do I need an RFC to join from Mexico?

Yes — Stripe Connect MX requires it during onboarding. Both persona física and persona moral are accepted. If you don't have an RFC yet, the SAT issues them quickly online.

Does Nova withhold any tax?

No. We pay you the full commission. You're responsible for reporting and paying income tax on your earnings, same as any other 1099 / persona física income.

Stripe follows the latest IRS rules — $600/year currently for most affiliate income (this has shifted recently and may change again). Check the IRS site or talk to your accountant if you're close to the threshold.

Yes. Profile → Export data. You'll get a JSON dump of your applications, bookings, commissions, payouts, and notifications. Email export takes 24 hours; we send a download link to your registered address.
